Blog Entry: Monday 7/27/2009

I did it! I reached my goal of losing 15 pounds in 30 weeks. Yesterday was the end of my 30th week. This morning I weighed myself and I was 164.8 pounds.

The thing that helped the most was the LoseIt! application on the iPhone. By tracking my calories, I learned not to change what I was eating. But, to control my portions. Something I'd never done in the past.

The next goal is to eat healthier. I am not sure how I'll track that one. Any suggestions?

Well, in June I flirted with my 165 LB target weight. Running and playing volleyball has definitely helped! Now, I need to start figuring out how to maintain that weight and stop losing weight without eating ice cream or pizza at least once a week!

Has it been this long since my last post? Oops. Well, I seemed to have plateaued at 169 pounds. And I am not sure why. I have started jogging in preparation for the Philadelphia Marathon and my caloric intake consistently beats my targets. Maybe it is the percentage of calories from fat that has accompanied the Nuggets' playoff run. Who knows.

Anyway, here are the stats from the previous weeks...

Well, I am trying a new format to see if I will remember to do this more. I am just going to post the pictures from my iPhone's Lose It! application. If there is a story, I'll tell it. If not (like today), I won't!

Well, I did not get started again as I'd hoped. Friday was tough anyway. We went to a Moroccan restaurant, Mataam Fez. The food was great. Especially the filo dough items. But, my iPhone calorie counter, Lose It! does no have much Moroccan food in it.

Saturday I started training for the Philadelphia Marathon. My official training schedule does not begin for a few weeks. But, I want to get some of the initial pain over with!

Sunday I went mountain biking in the Elk Meadow Open Space Park with Carl. It was not too technically challenging from a biking perspective. But, there were some climbs that left me gasping!

The past few weeks have been crazy. After Tripp was in town I went to the Philly area to pack up and move my mom to her much smaller house. No time then to blog. I got back on St. Patty's Day. Again, not a good day to blog about eating right!

I am down to 171.6 pounds.

Here are the past few weeks in review:
